Happy birthday, gorgeous boy! Nine years goes by so quickly.

This year's cake request was for a sponge cake with jam and cream. My first ever attempt at a sponge - and a gluten free one at that! - and it turned out okay... a bit dense but everyone one loved it (lashings of Chantilly cream makes everything better). 

The Apple Thief

Baby Bear has taken to stealing apples from one of our local fruit and veg shops. When shopping I wear him on my back in the Ergo and while I lean over, filling a bag with (super yummy local Jazz) apples, it seems that Baby Bear sneaks a hand around and snaffles an apple for himself.

Today we reached the other side of the shop before Beanie, horrified, said "Mama, B stole an apple again!" (the older boys all know they're not allowed to eat or open anything until it's paid for). Sure enough, I looked over my shoulder and there was Baby Bear contentedly putting all 6 of his teeth to good use.

And yes, we did pay for an extra apple once we reached the counter. ;)

Yesterday Beanie insisted that he wanted his hair as short as Loo Bear's. This morning he felt the same way and was desperate for it to be done. So...

 

I do need to go back and trim a little though... I draw the line at a rat tail.
